Bingo Beliefs Lands CEO in Jail

Who would have thought that bingo would land CEO of Unibet, Mr Petter Nylander in jail? Well it did, he was arrested by Dutch police under a French arrest warrant and thought that it was some kind of a joke gone wrong.

Mr Nylander who held a press conference at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in London said that he had and Unibet had always complied with the terms of EU Regulations, but that he saw the interests of French bingo players being undermined by the monopoly and that this anomaly required correction. The French Francais des Jeux monopolises all the lottery and horseracing and these are the authorities who made the charge against Mr. Nylander He also stated that he expected to have to face more questioning from the French authorities but urged that reform is required.

This arrest has sparked fears that UK and European online bingo operators may suffer the same fate as My Nylander and there may be further US type arrests of online bingo executives in Europe because of similar laws.

Spokesmen for Unibet are strongly of the opinion that the French consumer should have the freedom to choose with whole they place online bets.
