British Tourists Turkish Police And Bingo!

British holidaymakers were full of fun and frolic playing Bingo at Sunshine Bar in Altinkum, which is in Turkey. They were playing for the kicks of a free drink. It was great going when the unexpected happened. Suddenly the authorities in uniform abruptly knocked.

Police arrested seven british tourists and the players had to fill out forms and were each fined 42 pounds. Their tickets as well as pens were confiscated. The background of this fiasco is that in Turkey any form of gambling is illegally taboo. So when on a Turkish holiday it is better for the visitor to leave behind all traces of Bingo addiction if one does not want to have a brush with the law.

One of the victims, 25-year-old Sarah Holland is indignant for this sheer act of stupidity. It was not until she and Carla Harrison, both from North Wales, were hustled into a Black Maria police van that they realized that the show was not for Candid Camera. The indignity and monetary loss left a bad taste to the holiday spirit.
