Chorley Bingo Player Mugged

Saturday night out at bingo proved not to be so lucky for one bingo player after she was reportedly mugged when walking home from her local bingo hall in Chorley. The 40 year old lady told police that she tried to fight off her attacker after he stood in front of her and tried to snatch her handbag and she must of put up quite a struggle as the attacker in the end unzipped her bag and stole her purse that was said to have contained £300 cash inside.

It has not been stated whether the large amount of cash the lady had on her was due to a big bingo win or not, but nether less it must have been a terrifying ordeal for her to go through and this is the second such incident we have heard about in recent weeks where a bingo player has been mugged after leaving their local bingo hall to go home.

This incident happened between 9.35pm and 9.50pm on Saturday 30th August at the junction of Gillibrand Walks and Devonshire Road in Chorley and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forwards.
