Community Radio Uses Bingo for Fundraising

It is very apt that in the grand old tradition of bingo, a community based radio station is to used the game for holding its latest fundraising event. This weekend coming on Sunday 9^th March 2008 the Southport Community Radio station will hosting a fundraising Sunday night prize bingo evening at the home of the Southport Football Club, the Grandstand Club in Haig Avenue, Southport.

These fundraising evenings play a very important roll in the funding of Southport Community Radio, not only in terms of their licensing requirements but also because of the support the community shows for their very own local radio station.

The Southport Community Radio Station has often been referred to as the “Ticker Tape Station” chiefly because of the fact that much of the equipment used by the station is borrowed or hired, so this is a really worthy cause, and any additional funds raised will go towards reducing long term costs such as rentals. Don’t forget , the doors open at 7:15pm with eyes down at 8pm. There is no admission fee, just come and buy your bingo tickets, play and have fun.
