Fifty Years Veteran of Bingo Finally Wins Big

A seventy-eight year old woman from Livingston who has been playing bingo for fifty years finally caught a “big one”, she was playing at the Carlton Bingo in the Almondvale Centre when she won more than ₤40 000. She says that she was absolutely “gob-smacked” by her massive win. The mother of two sons is really excited about being able to share her winnings with her sons.

Her winnings consist of ₤38 200 for the National bingo game, the Regional prize of 2 038 and a house prize of ₤171, giving her a grand total of ₤40 409. She completed a full house in just thirty-eight calls, this is also quite remarkable.

The woman is a widow and she started playing bingo at the Carlton when she joined there as a member on its opening forty years ago, she regularly plays there with her neighbour. She said that she had no idea that she had won the National game until her neighbour told her, she thought she had only won the house prize.

As well as planning to treat her sons, she is planning to have a holiday in Ireland and buy a new carpet.
