Gala and Their Withdrawal From The National Bingo Game

Last week we reported how Gala bingo had come to the decision to pull out of the National Bingo Game, and of course this is now all over the news. The National Bingo Association has now commented on this dramatic move and it appears they will not be pulling out in August as we originally reported, they will be doing this in September. Still not much leeway if you ask me.

Paul Talboys, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bingo Association has said that he is surprised and saddened by the Gala bingo decision, particularly as the industry is facing hugely critical challenges. He does however realize that individual bingo operations are also facing their own challenges and respects this.

The National bingo game will keep working with other bingo clubs including, Mecca, Castle and Buckingham Bingo as well as a number of smaller independent operators. The collaboration between the National game and these operators will still allow bingo players to win life changing amounts of money and this will not change after the withdrawal of Gala bingo. But one does wonder if Gala bingo will be able to support the same prize winnings as those provided by the “BIG” National.
