More Slots for Bingo But Not for Sea Side Arcades

Now that we have heard from the Government on their decision to have more high paying slots machines available for bingo clubs, the bingo clubs must be rejoicing from the rooftops. Although the move is not a huge change, it does double the amount of these slot machines for bingo halls and therefore doubles any income they derive from them. However it appears that this only applies to bingo clubs and this lucrative little money spinner must remain the same for Sea Side arcades.

Yesterday when they announced the decision to allow eight instead of four ₤1 paying ₤500 jackpot machines back into bingo clubs the rejected the pleas of seaside resorts to have any. See side resorts had hoped to climb onto the bingo bandwagon in this regard but have now had their hopes dashed. What prompted the change was the fact that bingo clubs in the UK appear to have been in a fast spiraling, downward turn, due to the slots plus other external factors, and the aim of the new legislation was to assist bingo clubs turn this around.

The reason given for this monumental turn of events was that Bingo clubs were being seen as playing a vital role within the communities they operated in, and the fact that nearly 100 small bingo clubs had been closed in the past four years. The Government seems to have been convinced by Mr. Sutcliffe that this move would assist the bingo industry but find no reason why it should be extended to sea side arcades.

I actually agree sea side arcade slots are for pennies and fun and should not in my consideration be turned into gambling facilities. People who don’t want to play slots at bingo halls or casinos and still want a chance at a big jackpot are always able to turn to online bingo, they have plenty of side games including slots.
