National Bingo Calling Competition Canned

The Bingo Association has been running this competition since 1994 and it was subsequently taken over by the National Bingo Game in 1999. They are now saying that the competition has been called of because of the difficulties that bingo in the UK is experiencing at the moment, although this does not apply to online bingo. However, that being said, the national Bingo has announced the fact on their website and they have said that they are going to reintroduce it again next year, I don’t understand! Surely if there was such a crisis it would be better to have the competition, I mean in the face of adversity, there is nothing like a bit of healthy competition to get the blood flowing again and call attention to this plight.

The internal Gala bingo competition is still to go ahead as planned, but it is not really the same as the National comp because all the other bingo halls in the country should also get a chance at this title. The internal competition at Gala is getting pretty hyped at this point and I have been keeping tabs. It appears as though we are all set to find out who the new winner is going to be pretty shortly. In fact the final eight have been chosen and we are ready for the finals.

The National Bingo regional finals were due to take place in September with the final being held in November, but I guess that is not going to happen and last years winner, Blake Robson will be wearing the crown by default for two concurrent years. I sure hope that this is not going to be a permanent fixture and that things get back to normal next year.
