New Bingo Club on the Cards for Dovercourt

The residents of Dovercourt in Essex may well be getting a big bingo boost to their town after plans are underway to build a 200 seater bingo hall on top of the old Hustler snooker hall. Owners of the Geisha Hotel that is situated along the sea front in Clacton on Sea, Essex are currently refurbishing a nightclub that is underneath this old snooker hall and they are hoping that their new look nightclub and new bingo hall will boost trade in their struggling town centre.

At the moment residents of Dovercourt tend to venture further afield to either Colchester or Clacton on Sea to play bingo or go on a night out, so this new venture should prove to be a big hit with them, as they will be able to play bingo and dance the night away on their own doorstep.

Mr Brennan, who is the manager of the basement nightclub in Dovercourt, said: “It is a really positive thing for the town and it will definitely boost trade. At the moment, all the Harwich people are going to Colchester or Clacton for their nights out, but if they can spend money in their home town it will be fantastic. He also added: “We are going to need cashiers, bar staff and night time staff, all of who will be 100 per cent employed from the local area.”

It is good to see that there are plans to build a new bingo hall in a town rather than hearing about another one of them closing down and it if going to be great for all the bingo loving players of Dovercourt to have a bingo club in their town instead of having to drive miles up the road the play land based bingo. The land based bingo industry as a whole have been having a very rough time of it lately and the news of the possibility of a new bingo club opening its doors, will be a welcomed one I am sure.

The underground nightclub in Dovercourt will be closed from 2nd November, whilst it is being re-vamped and it is due to re-open its doors in style on Friday 14th November.
