Newspapers and Online Bingo

With so many newspapers delving into the world of online bingo I decided to take a look at just who they are!! A couple of the most familiar names that spring to mind are Mirror Bingo and Sun Bingo as both of these newspaper groups run bingo sites on the net and they are amongst some of the most well known household names. News of the world Bingo is a sister site to Sun Bingo and Mail Bingo from the Daily Mail Newspaper chain are one of the most recent newcomers to the online bingo world. Way back in the 80’s playing bingo in your newspaper was all the rage, but forward to 2008 and it is online bingo that seems to be taking players by storm, so it is no wonder we are seeing more and more newspaper joining the world of online bingo!

We also have Daily Record Bingo online, which is a daily newspaper in Scotland and is a spin off from Mirror Bingo, the daily star also has their very own online bingo site. We don’t however have a Bingo Times or Guardian Bingo online bingo sites yet, but you never know they may be ones to hit our screens in the future!

You have got to say that newspaper groups that launch online bingo sites have the heads up on other sites on the net as they have the ability to reach millions of people through advertising in their own newspapers, so this has got to give them the edge in pulling power and getting players to check out their bingo sites online. Another real plus for newspaper groups is that most of them are trusted household names, so players have no trepidation in joining up at their bingo sites as they know that they are playing at trusted brands.

Sun Bingo recently took a huge step by dumping Tombola Bingo software and re-launching their online bingo site with a completely new software brand and I think that they proved that the power of advertising through their newspaper and the many Sun Bingo TV adverts we have seen lately can re-build an online bingo site within a matter of just a few weeks, as their player numbers don’t seem much different now from when they were on Tombola software. I don’t think lesser well known sites going down the same route as Sun Bingo would be quite so lucky in retaining players and getting new ones to join their site so quickly, so once again we come back to the power of advertising!
