Bingo Clubs Fruit Machine Woes

There has been plenty in the news in recent months about the financial losses being suffered by UK land base bingo clubs, whether it be for one reason or another, but one of the main blames has been handed down to the smoking ban and the fact that people are going outside for a smoke instead of playing the fruit machines in-between bingo sessions.

However, one observer, who shall remain unnamed, recently saw some unhealthy practices regarding the fruit machines in a South Wales Bingo Club.

The writer I am referring to maintains that the bingo industries problems are often self inflicted, due to a lack of insight or imagination and one practice that he observed at a Cardiff bingo club, proves just what he thinks is probably true. Basically what is happening is the bingo player plays a session then goes to the fruit machine, plays a couple of spins on one or more machines, and leaves one credit in the machine, he then leaves the machines, tying them up and another player will not use the machine if there is even one credit it in it, as it is supposed to be in bad form.

This practice is happening during bingo clubs peak times and it really is up to the bingo club to stop whining about loss in revenues, and enforce rules to stop this practice.
