Pensioner Refused Help at Bingo Club
Sixty seven year old Valerie Hickling was recently at the Byron Bingo Center with her seventy four year old sister, Betty Barton and a friend and was in fear for her sisters life after Betty began chocking in the bingo club. She said that the moment they sat down at the bingo table her sister felt a tickling in her throat and started gasping for breath. She started chocking even though she had not had anything to eat or drink and their friend went to the tea counter to ask for a drop of water as her friend was choking.
The person behind the counter told her she couldn’t have any and told her to buy a bottle of waster from the bingo book point at the bottom of the hall. She said that they couldn’t believe it, in an emergency they were told that they should buy a bottle of water.
Fortunately Betty did recover after they forked out ₤1 and purchased bottled water. A Byron Bingo spokesman said that all customers have been informed that even in an emergency the bingo book point is where to obtain water and the tea water is not for drinking, even in an emergency….I personally cannot fathom what this bingo club is thinking. I am sure they have lost three loyal customers, I know I wouldn’t go back.
