Regular Bingo Players Don’t Go For the Jackpots

There are many bingo players in the UK who actually don’t play the game to wing money. In fact most players who are asked will tell you that they consider bingo to be a form of entertainment, rather than a gambling activity. They enjoy playing bingo frequently because of the opportunities to socialize that it presents.

For instance, Scratby couple; Pat and Linda Reeve, go to their local bingo club twice a week, and have been doing so for the past four years. They say that they have been lucky every now and then, but they go to the bingo to enjoy an afternoon outing.  Seventy five year old Lillian Wilson from Yarmouth, plays bingo five times a week, she says that she has yet to win a big one, but she has been reasonably lucky, though she is going to keep trying. Jean Crowe from Caister is a sprightly eighty two year old, says that she once won £200, but she likes the game for itself and finds that it is a really fun way to meet new people. Freda Bates is seventy six, and she frequents her bingo club because it has become such a big part of her social life. She has been a member of the same club since 1980, and says that it is sometimes nice to go home with a few extra pounds in her handbag.

Based on these few examples it is easy to see that bingo players like to win, but this is not the be all and end all for them. Most of these examples are elderly people and they consider the game to play a huge role in their social lives. Online bingo is much the same, with the heart of the site being the online chat rooms.
