Stoke Heath Community Centre bring back Bingo!

The Stoke Heath community centre have just announced the news that they will be bringing back the game of bingo for their OAP’s to enjoy, line dancing plus some other activities are also due to now take place at this community hall. The game of bingo has long brought communities together and it looks like it will do once again for the residents in high rise flats and sheltered accommodation in Coventry as they will get the chance to meet their neighbours whilst enjoying free food and a good old game of bingo amongst other activities.

Chairwoman Edwina Jones had this to say about the project, “We received some fundraising so we want to use the money to benefit local residents. We want them to come and use the community centre. There used to be bingo at the centre then it stopped so we are trying to get it going again and hope it will be a success.”

Pensioner Nora Wood, aged 92, said, “We got here with ring and ride but we need a few more to come along so they keep providing the service.” n Whitefriars Housing Group is expecting a full house for a series of free food and bingo events it has organised for tenants in the city.

It was good to hear about this latest initiative at the stoke heath community centre and communities do need places to go like this to help bring them together and with the offer of free food and bingo as well as some other activities taking place here, I hope that this will turn out to be a great success for them.

The social aspect of playing bingo whether it be at a land based bingo hall, in a community centre like this stoke one or playing the online version of the game, just can’t be beaten no matter what way you look at it, as I don’t think that there is any other game in the world where you have the chance of winning some great cash and prizes as well as sharing and having a great time with friends. Bingo as we know is also the most socially accepted form of gaming in the world and it has never really wavered in its popularity over the years.
