Student Nurse Receives Surprise Bingo Win

A young student nurse who is currently studying nursing at the University of Leeds, recently bagged a huge bingo win of £22,500 while playing bingo at the Gala Bingo Club, Pasture Street, Grimsby.

The twenty-one year old student, who is originally from Grimsby, says that the win could not have come at a better time as she is due to complete her studies next year and she and her boyfriend would like to be able to purchase a house together. Now she has the money available to put down a deposit on the house they want.

She was playing bingo together with her boyfriend when she completed a full house in forty-four calls and won the National Prize of £45,000 but she has to share this with another player from Blackpool who had also called full house after forty-four calls. She also won the house prize of £150.

The student said that when she was told how much she had won, she just couldn’t believe it, she has been playing bingo for about a year and was so broke on the night that she won, that her boyfriend had to purchase her ticket. She couldn’t wait to tell her Nana her story as she is a big bingo fan. The money will go into a joint account for the couple.
