Bingo Calls Receive Makeover

The online bingo community has been responsible for the makeover of the traditional bingo calls. Apparently Free Bingo UK put out the call for members to put their heads together and come up with alternatives to the more traditional approach to bingo calling. The online bingo site asked them to base the new calls on pop music. They are going to use the calls in their new bingo game, appropriately called the “Music Room”. The rhyming bingo calls are based on everything from pop songs to singers names, chart hit and band that have numbers in their names.
Instead of Number ten - Gordons Den, they now have number ten – Eminem. Gone is clickety click – sixty six to be replaced by, Get your Kicks on Route, sixty six, and so on. There are ninety calls in total and every one is linked to a specific song or musician. You can check this out on the site and a preview clip is available.
I think this really sounds like fun and it seems that members have come to the fore as the new bingo room has already been launched. To make it even more fun, these bingo calls have been voiced and recorded by the celebrity impressionist, Stuart Smith. So the dulcet tones of the voices of Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley can be heard.
The UK Manager of Free Bingo, Wayne Howe says that this has been done to move with the times. They hope that by engaging with popular culture they will be able to attract a younger audience. Online bingo is doing very well at the moment and the new calls together with the music themed calls is felt to be just the ticket to attract more new members to the online bingo site.
