Bingo Cleans Up!
I couldn’t resist adding this little snippet to my blog, I thought it was really nice, and in the wake of the Gala Bingo Club in Swindon being nearly closed down, I thought it was necessary to add, just to reiterate what bingo actually does for the community.
I don’t know if you are aware but nearly all online and land based bingo clubs put something back into the community. Whether it be raising funds for charitable organization of actually getting involved in the communities in which they are based.
There was quite a hue and cry when it was announced that the Gala Bingo club in Swindon was to be closed down, residents objected, and I am not quite sure of the final outcome, however last year the staff of the Gala bingo club got involved in a really worthwhile community project.
They transformed a piece of unsightly land into a nature haven! Six members of staff from the Gala bingo got involved in transforming the piece of land behind Barnardo’s Children’s centre from and eyesore to a sight for sore eyes. Firs they cleared the overgrown land and then proceeded to create two separate pathways. This project was part of the Gala Bingo community scheme and everyone put in a great deal of effort, a willow tree and wild flowers were also planted.
I don’t know about you, but I believe that this is probably part of the reason the Swindon community objected so much to the bingo club being closed down, the staff there really do act as part of the greater community. Swindon Council and another community based company chipped in towards the success of the project.
