Bingo Players and Gambling Addiction
December 27, 2007 · Tagged: Online Bingo
While we have read much about the worries that the UK Government have about the increase in gambling addictions due to the fact that online bingo playing and gaming is now available, these appear to not be as serious in nature as was originally anticipated, with bingo playing being one of the least worrying aspects of gaming addiction.
Out of the GamCare annual report it has been found that from a sample of 1229 of their clients only 0.6% said that online bingo was their main gaming pastime. This makes the odds pretty slim that bingo addiction is going to be a worrying aspect for the online gaming fraternity. GamCare work tirelessly amongst their online customer base and are committed to getting in touch with anyone they think may have a gambling problem.
GamCare is the UK’s leading authority regarding the provision of advice and support for counselling people who believe that they might be affected by gambling problems and they believe that the are amongst the most proactive to ensure that their clients see the game of online bingo as being purely recreational.
Dan Smyth of the Better Bingo Network has praised the publication of the GamCare report and is reassured by the fact that gaming addiction amongst the bingo playing demographic is relatively low.
