Mecca Bingo Employees take to the Skies for Charity

Mecca Bingo have been prolific campaigners for charity over the years and they are currently on a massive fundraising initiative for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Not content with running monthly charity bingo games in aid of raising funds for Marie Curie at their online bingo site, Mecca Bingo employees from their land based bingo clubs took to the skies last month in a sky diving charity expedition.

Natalie Pringle and Lorna Hammill along with other Mecca Bingo staff raised around £900 for national charity Marie Curie Cancer Care through participating in the sky dive, in September. This took place at the Hinton Airfield in Northamptonshire.

You have got to take your hats off to these people, because it is no small feat jumping out of a plane and they did it all in the name of (charity).

Speaking about their sky diving antics, the General Manager at the Mecca Bingo club in Hartlepool, Gavin Lee said, “To agree to jump out of a plane for charity is just incredible and shows how passionate the team is in its support for Marie Curie”.

All funds raised in this campaign by Mecca Bingo, their staff and customers will go to Marie Curie who do an outstanding job supporting a number of people living with terminal illness along with their families.

The great daffodil appeal is the biggest fundraising campaign run by Marie Curie Cancer Care themselves and it takes place at the end of March each year. Planning for the great daffodil appeal for 2012 has already begun, as this starts much earlier than the official date.

Marie Currie need people to help their local fundraisers in your area. You can volunteer your time for next year’s Great Daffodil Appeal and help raise much-needed funds so that our Marie Curie Nurses can continue caring for terminally ill patients.
