It was reported in this is money today that visitor number at 99% of all Mecca Bingo clubs in the UK have declined by 3% in the past 16 weeks. This was offset a little though, because spending per customer was up 2%, which basically left like for like revenues for their clubs the same.

Lots of people go away during the summer holidays, or they just don’t have time to play bingo as much as they usually do during this period, so the decline in Mecca Bingo customers could be put down to a number of factors.

Bingo on the whole was reported to be on a bit of a boom lately, providing a cheap night out where cash can be won, compared to lots of other leisure activities.

Online revenues for Mecca Bingo have been on the increase over the past few months, in fact they are said to be up by a whopping 21%. Gaming through smart phones has apparently nearly tripled compared to this time last year and they now account for 6% of their total online revenue.

Mobile gaming was predicted to be the next big thing as new generations started to play games and it looks like these predictions are coming true.

The beauty of online gaming and mobile gaming is that no matter what the weather is like outside, you can always log onto your favourite sites and play games. These can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so unlike bingo clubs – gaming sites just never close their virtual doors.

Mecca Bingo also recently announced plans to expand the number of casinos they have to 45 by the year 2015 – so casino certainly seems to hold the greater riches.

Just like when it was implemented in UK, the smoking ban recently introduced in Spain has had a massive effect on revenues for their bingo clubs and these are said to be down by a massive 19%.
