Birmingham Bingo Caller Wants to Win

Mother of two, Tracey Claire, a forty four year old from Sutton Coldfied in Birmingham, wants to be crowned the UK’s National Bingo Caller of the Year. She has been playing bingo for twenty years and has worked at the Stockland Green Gala Bingo for the past seven and she us up against seven male finalists, so she is hoping that the number seven is going to be her lucky number and she will win the championship.
She is the only female finalist in the contest, and said that she was ecstatic about getting through to the finals. With all the support she had received from her club and the public, she was already beginning to feel like a star. Her club prides it-self in producing some of the best bingo callers in the industry, and she couldn’t wait to strut her stuff for the judges. Tracey also said that she was determined to earn a reputation for her club.
Tracey only became a bingo caller by accident through filling in for a colleague who was off sick from work, at the time she was working in the diner at the club as she was waiting for a permanent position. When they asked her to fill in for the sick colleague she was busy cooking sausages and had to go up on stage in her pinny and hat.
I suppose if she were calling for a game of online bingo she wouldn’t have minded as no one would have seen her in her pinny and hat, but getting up there in front of all those people dressed like that must have taken some gumption. But then again the National Caller of the Year competition is not for the faint of heart, and I have heard it said that some of the Judges make Simon Cowell “look like a kitten”.
