Help for UK Land Based Bingo Operations?

Well the petition to “save my bingo” didn’t pull off the VAT thing for UK land based bingo operations, but it does seem as though something is about to happen to assist them in their plight to make better profits and increase attendance at clubs.

The Government has taken another U-turn completely and it appears that they will relax the rules in terms of the gambling act whereby bingo and other gambling institutions are only allowed to have a certain amount of ₤500 jackpot slot machines on their premises.

Leaders in the bingo industry have let it be known that they are in a position whereby they cold lose as much as ₤20 – 30 million annually due to the new gambling laws, say nothing of the smoking ban and unfair taxation.

Anyway, it appears that Gerry Sutcliffe is about to make an announcement to loosen the limits on the amount of high paying jackpot machines are allowed to be kept in bingo establishments and this actually does bode well for the industry.

Three has been a total of fifty-three bingo hall closures in the past fifteen months, this means that there are only 553 bingo clubs left and this is dropping in number with regular monotony.
