Responsible Bingo Play

With the ongoing hype surrounding the new gambling act and what is perceived to be a relaxation of advertising rules for gambling, the “watchdog” and educational institutions such as Gamble Aware, Gamcare and DCMS etc, have expressed concerns that adults who are allowed to gamble, play bingo and the like. Should be assumed to be a bunch of adolescents who don’t know better. The fear is that a new wave of problem bingo players and gamblers will be bred.

Gamble aware punts that you should visit the site first, before even deciding to step a foot over the hallowed threshold of your local bingo club, in order to understand the potential pitfalls involved in having a little flutter with your hard earned cash. Apparently the horror stories and myths that some gamblers believe have to be drummed into our thick skulls and preventative measures taken to completely halt any desire to wish to try your luck at the local.

Right, I can see that happening, just imagine the scenario…. Bert and Madge on holiday at the Skegness Arms Hotel…. “Madge dear, would like to go up the Pleasure Palace tonight for a couple of pints and a game of bingo? Bert I would love to, but I have heard that I should first check out whether or not I might have the tendency to be a problem gambler.” I don’t think it is going to happen, no matter how educated we become on the subject, the only way we will know if bingo or any other game for that matter, is a problem, is when it actually becomes a problem.
