Rushden Musician Wins National Bingo Prize

Sixty Five year old Joy Ammon of Rushden is the latest in a long line of winners to have a go at the national Bingo prize and she won ₤61 499.15 at the flutters bingo club. She is the third big winner at the club in a short space of time. The other two winners also walked off with substantial amounts last summer in a space of weeks. The lucky winner said that when she had come close to winning she really didn’t have time to think about it and when she suddenly realized that she was down to her last number they called it out, number one, Kelly’s eye!

Like most big winners the fact that she won has not registered and sunk in yet. She said that she has never won anything like this amount of money and can’t wait to get her hands on it so she can redecorate her home.

This lady subscribes to the philosophy that bingo keeps her mind active and for this reason she plays nearly every night. Perhaps we should introduce her to online bingo? She also enjoys the social aspect of playing bingo and goes to the club regularly to socialize with other people and enjoy a drink.

Before her retirement Ann worked aboard cruise liners with her husband, they both played Latin American instruments and they formed a duo known as Los Viajeros, this is Spanish for “The Voyagers”.

Well I am really happy for her, it seems that her dedication to the “mind sharpening” effects of playing bingo has stood her in good stead and she is a deserving winner, although I might think more about a holiday on a cruise liner than spending it on re-decorating my home.
