I just read a press release with the header (Stop Destroying Our Bingo)and it talked about how the smoking ban and government are being blamed for less bums on seats in our land based bingo halls. This report also brought up a very good point about the new hand held electronic devices that are now in many bingo clubs up and down the UK. Gala Bingo call their gadget the “Gala Wiz” and this little machine allows bingo players to play a lot more tickets that they probably normally would have.
Stoke Heath Community Centre bring back Bingo!

The Stoke Heath community centre have just announced the news that they will be bringing back the game of bingo for their OAP’s to enjoy, line dancing plus some other activities are also due to now take place at this community hall. The game of bingo has long brought communities together and it looks like it will do once again for the residents in high rise flats and sheltered accommodation in Coventry as they will get the chance to meet their neighbours whilst enjoying free food and a good old game of bingo amongst other activities.
Sceptre Leisure Float on the Stock Exchange

It has just been announced that Sceptre Leisure have floated their Lancashire based gaming company on the Stock Exchange and the group opened up with a share price of 77p per share, which in turn gave their company a market value of £2.253 million pounds. Chief executive of Spectre Leisure, Ken Turner said, “The gaming group was on target to meet its financial targets after completing a reverse takeover of Gaming king, which provides money-spinning games for charities.”
Bingo Ann Leaves Job on a Big Bingo Note!

Ann Copley has worked in the land based bingo industry for 44 years and she has done a multitude of different bingo related jobs throughout her career, but at the age of 62 Ann decided it was time to retire and she ended her job on a bingo high note by turning her hand to bingo caller for the night by calling out the numbers on the Whizz Kids charity game her Mecca Bingo Club in Exeter.
