TV Advertising to Boost Online Bingo

September 1st will be a big day for the gambling industry since this is the day that the new regulations go into effect.

Gaming operators have spent a great deal of time gearing up for this day with the relaxation of the regulations of the Gambling Act of 2005. One of the provisions will allow online bingo operators and other gaming establishments to advertise on television.

No one has revealed plans of any big advertising campaigns to begin this weekend but many people are waiting to see who the first advertisers will be. Many companies are expected to eventually take advantage of the opportunity to engage in television advertising.

Many people are introduced to bingo through the use of free bingo games. The free games serve as an introduction to the game and the site and then the player eventually tries the real money play. The use of television advertising in combination with free play offers can be a powerful combination for a bingo company to attract new players and this is an opportunity that many of them are exploring even though there are restrictions on advertising.

Gaming companies, including bingo, cannot advertise before 9pm in the interests of socially responsible gaming. But television advertising will allow many online bingo companies to gain the attention of land based players and this is the purpose of the advertising, as online bingo and other gaming companies try to make inroads into targeted markets.
