Twenty Four Year Old Bingo Winner

A twenty four year old woman from Whitehaven is ₤31,000 richer after playing bingo at the Gaiety Club in Tangier Street. That is a lot of money for one so young! It is not the first time she has won either, in 2006 she won ₤1,000 and last year nearly won ₤50,000.
This lucky winner caught the National Bingo prize but it was ₤60,000 on the night and she had to share it with another winner in Edinburgh. Not only did she have to share the National bingo prize with another player, she is sharing her portion of the win with her mother whom she plays bingo with. This lucky young woman has been playing bingo for five years at the Gaiety club, since she was nineteen, she plays there twice a week with her mother.
At first she says she thought she had won the house prize and wasn’t too excited as this was only ₤36, so she really didn’t think any further about it, but when she realized what she had actually won she was completely and utterly shocked.
The winner has a two year old son, is a care worker and is engaged to be married. She plans to use her bingo winnings to fix up her garden and house and take a holiday abroad with her son and fiancé.
I really believe that that this goes to show that the face of bingo is changing, yes we have online bingo and this is definitely attracting the younger crowd, but we are also seeing more and m ore younger players winning really big in the land based clubs. I just goes to show that bingo does have the ability to attract younger crowds, and I don’t think it is only about the money!
